We know that you may feel apprehensive about even thinking of moving your loved one to an assisted living. As parents age, a very difficult transition begins for both the parent and the child. We understand that the ones that once used to take care of you are now being taken care of by you and the role reversal sometimes comes very suddenly and sometimes is very challenging.
At Heritage of Clara Barton, we want you to know we are here not to replace you, but to walk beside you and your loved one in the hopes of becoming a loving part in all of your lives. In allowing us to take over the role as your loved ones full-time caregiver, you may rebuild a healthier relationship between the two of you. Many of us have walked this same road with our own loved ones, so we understand the emotions that you are feeling.
While moving is a big adjustment, the move often improves your loved one’s quality of life by making them safer, healthier, and more times than not- much happier. Your loved one will take a little while to get adjusted at first, but often find themselves valuing the additional level of support and care, all while embracing the social aspect of assisted living.
